A demonize request detaches the caller from its controlling terminal:

This is what demonize does:

• Turn the running Logiweb machine into a demon by getting rid of the controlling terminal.
• Redirect standard output and standard error to a log file with pathname l.
• During demonization, the Logiweb machine changes process identifier (pid). Write the pid to the file with pathname p. If p is the empty string, do not write the pid to any file.
• Change user and group identifier (uid and gid) to the user with login name u. If u is the empty string, do not change uid and gid.
