Lgc generates this progress message at verbosity level 4+ when it probes index.html in the rendering directory of a page to see if the page has to be re-rendered. If the file exists then lgc believes that the page is rendered already and does no rendering. Otherwise, lgc renders the page. Translating a page may lead to rendering of all transitively referenced pages. Probing is done to avoid e.g. re-rendering of all those pages on each compilation.
A 'Probing' message is followed by a 'Found' or a 'Not found' message.
